Meadow's Story
Have you ever seen something that fits you so perfectly that afterwards you just can’t stop thinking about it?
That is exactly what happened to me when I saw Meadow at the Rock County Humane Society. My heart melted when I first saw her and, instantly, I knew she would be a perfect fit into my life!  She would be my next agility dog!  However, making that possible wouldn’t be so easy.
My household is already made up of a husband  (better mention him first J), a dog, cat, bird, rabbit and many fish.  My husband already thought we had plenty of pets and our dog, Jake, picks his companions very carefully.

Over the remaining week, I could not get Meadow out of my mind.  Thoughts of her popped in and out of my head 24 hours a day. I knew I had to try to make a difference in this dog’s life!  That is when I inquired about the possibility of being a “foster dog” mom.
This would allow Meadow to be in a more enjoyable environment and allow my husband an opportunity to fall in love with her as much as I had. The plan sounded great to me so I went for it. Fostering it would be!  So, I headed back to the Humane Society, only to discover that someone else had noticed Meadow, too, and placed a “hold” on her. Sadness quickly came over me but I knew that fostering and helping another dog was what I needed to do.  We were blessed to have fostered and gotten to know a wonderful border-collie mix named, Noah.  He found a perfect family who would give him his forever loving home.

Days following Noah’s adoption I received the most amazing message!  (You see, the whole time I was having fun loving Noah, I still could not give up thinking about that little Meadow.)  For some reason, more than I can explain, things just didn’t work out with Meadow and the family who placed a “hold” on her. She was going to be my next foster dog and I was so emotional that I wanted to just cry!  Then, I remembered my wonderful dog Jake and how carefully he decides who his new friends are. To make a longer story, short…Jake and Meadow’s introduction was successful, we were able to bring Meadow home as a foster with a possibility to adopt her if all things went well.  We all
(Jake included) fell in love with her and she was adopted into our family on August 6, 2007.  Meadow is now my newest agility star!

Never lose sight of your hopes and dreams.

They are bound to come true!
