Rock County Humane Society's Help Me, Heal Me Fund provides for medical care for extreme illness or injury that would otherwise be beyond our means to treat. Often medical care of this nature exceeds RCHS' limited resources and so this Fund can be truly lifesaving for the neediest of animals. RCHS does not have a shelter veterinarian so we incur the same costs as a pet owner would to take our animals to a veterinarian.
The Help Me, Heal Me fund has saved animals who have been hit by cars, paid for diagnostic testing beyond our capabilities, and treated things like mange and bot fly larvae.
UPDATE: January 2012
Eva needs surgery, please help!
Like most of the animals we care for each year, Eva arrived on our doorstep as a stray, brought to our shelter by a caring community member who found her wandering outside all alone. We hoped, as we always do, that Eva's family would be missing her and come to take her home…but nobody came.
In this way, Eva's story is not so different from many other animals who come to us seeking shelter from the streets, but Eva's tale doesn't end there. Eva has a large mast cell tumor on her front foot and needs surgery to have it removed. Eva is an older girl, but her age hasn’t diminished her zest for life or the capacity for love. She greets everyone with an excited wag of her little nub tail and a heaping dose of affection. You can’t help but smile back when she looks at you with that big Boxer grin on her face!
Eva deserves a home filled with soft beds, squeaky toys, and love, but we need your help to get her there! The surgery she needs is expensive, and our Help Me, Heal Me fund is almost depleted from saving the lives of other needy animals last year. Your donation today will ensure that Eva and others like her get a second chance. Eva didn't deserve to be abandoned, sick and alone. Now you have the opportunity to show her how kind and generous our community can be. Please help us help Eva by making a donation to our Help Me, Heal Me fund right now.

Meet Nigel: he was a beneficiary of the Help Me, Heal Me Fund.
A bright and alert little poodle, Nigel's teeth were so badly decayed and infected that his entire body was affected. Help Me, Heal Me Fund allowed us to pay for his dental work and make him a healthy, happy boy. Nigel is now enjoying life in his new home, and your contributions made that happen.
